Thailand, located in Southeast Asia, is renowned for its stunning beaches, ornate temples, and delectable cuisine. Rich in history and culture, the country blends influence from East and West. Its geography is diverse, encompassing mountainous regions in the north and tropical islands in the south. Buddhism deeply influences Thai culture, practiced by the majority. Thai cuisine is celebrated globally for its bold flavors and fresh ingredients, with dishes like Pad Thai and Red/Green Curry being global favourites. Thai cacao is grown across the country, in the South (Chumphon, Nakhon Si Thammarat area), central regions (Chantaburi, Tayong, and Trad), and northern areas (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai). However, changing climate patterns in the South have posed challenges, with excessive rainfall and floods threatening cacao growth. As a result, farmers and investors are increasingly moving towards the hilly north of Thailand, where weather conditions are more conducive to cacao cultivation. Major city centers like Bangkok and Chiang Mai have also emerged as hubs for bean-to-bar chocolate makers, and Thailand now hosts its own annual Craft Chocolate Festival.
